Coping with Change
Life-changing events can send a jolt through your well-being,
creating a state of unbalance and stress. A major change
in your life such as the death of a loved one, a divorce
or a major illness can pull the rug right out from under
you, leaving you facing in a completely new direction. Even
positive changes, such as getting married, losing weight,
a promotion or buying your first house, all elicit a significant
level of stress.
Day-to-day changes can also throw you off balance and lower
your tolerance. Abrupt changes in your schedule, changes
in eating habits and changes in work...

Members like you asked, and OH’s network
of professionals answered!
Is it common to gain weight after you lose the
water weight and before your first fill or is it my
insulin resistance creeping up on me again? When questioning
my Dr. about my insulin resistance and having me retested
(GTT) he just looked at me funny. I know many Dr.’s
don’t quite understand this, but he told me that
is not the problem...

Share Your Goals!
Celebrating Successfully Achieved Goals
So far I have reached one of my goals. I drive a school
bus and my one goal was to be able to fit down the center
isle of my school bus without having to turn sideways
and I have reached that goal! I can get to the back
in no time flat. I am officially rockin’ my D/S.
-Patricia Helbert
My goal is to compete and finish a full distance
Iron Man Triathlon in 2009. That's a 2.4 mile swim,
a 114 mile bike ride, followed by a full marathon
of 26.20 miles. I competed in my first Triathlon last
month and finished 2nd in my division and am scheduled
for my 2nd Triathlon this month. I had RNY on 01/14/2008
when I weighed just under 400 pounds. Today I am 222
pounds and am quickly approaching my 9th month post-op.

OH BloggersInspiration, Support and Personal Journey's
Before
my surgery, I read article after article and testimony
after testimony that described weight loss surgery
as merely a tool to achieving your weight loss goals.
Now, all those articles and testimonies make sense.
While the first few months were rough for me, I'm
so glad I went through with the surgery.
Now, I don't shy away from pictures, I can take my
children roller skating on skate night at their school,
I don't get anxious about eating in front of people,
and I smile so much more than I did before.
