Bird of Paradise-
Chicken done right!
This is a combination of a recipe I found and my own changes
that I found work the best for WLS patients. Tried and tested
and everyone wanted seconds...Since it's mainly a sauce, the
sauce does no penetrate the chicken so it remains low in carbs
to the tune of 9.5 per serving. It's EXTREMELY... Read

Q. What is a total body lift?
A. A total body lift is a trademarked phrase, which is
a somewhat confusing phrase. Typically, it describes a single
stage surgery which incorporates a circumferential body lift,
leg lift, breast lift, breast augmentation, torsoplasty, and
arm lift. Usually, this surgery is performed in a hospital
with multiple surgeons operating on different body parts.
This surgery is long and may... Read

Six years ago almost to this day, I was sitting on the bed
of the Salvation Army in downtown Indianapolis going through
meth withdrawal. I had lost my apartment, car, children, friends,
and self respect. I haven't touched meth since that experience.
In the past six years I have stayed 100% clean, got my children
back from my mother (and received their forgiveness), attained
my associates degree, married a beautiful man who loves the
Lord, and landed a job at a hospital with great benefits.
I reached all those goals with weight loss surgery being the
next. I had my DS
surgery five weeks ago and have lost 40lbs. I am
already feeling so much better!
My next goal is to acquire my bachelor's degree in Psychology
and my master's degree in addictions counseling. Eventually,
I want to open a non-profit counseling center for drug addicts.
Many addicts can't afford counseling. I want to use what I
went through to help others! That in a short summary are my
goals reached and goals to be reached. Now if I could just
reach my goal of not walking into walls, I would be set! Lol.

Last Friday night, Jack and I went to dinner with some Friends.
We decided on Thai food. It was interesting because it was
a night of several firsts. First time having them over to
our house. First time going to dinner with them. First time
eating in front of them and first time discussing my WLS with
them. Although they ordered normally, and heartily, I ordered
chicken satay (appetizer) and a Thai chicken salad. I ended
up taking most of the salad home with me to go.
Most the meal, I spent talking and enjoying their company.
We talked about foods I could and couldn't eat. How they felt
life wouldn't be the same with-out noodles or breads and I
said that I've eaten enough noodles and rice to feed a small
village. That I know exactly how those foods taste and I don't
feel like I am giving up anything. That I focus on the foods
I can eat and I make the most of those foods. I really did
enjoy the chicken satay. I was really delicious and filling.
Was it my favorite Thai dish? No. But it was very good!
So... then comes Sunday night and I had to run to Target
to buy some binders and look for anti-motion sickness medicine
for our cruise and I buy a box of Junior Mints. Not a small
box. The big box. I ate the whole box... Read
